UW System libraries has made changes to problematic subject headings that will improve the discovery experience for our patrons by aligning it with our institutional values for equity, diversity and inclusion. The changes we have made also balance the need to cause the least amount of disruption to researchers.
While using our discovery tool, you may find records that do not display the terms you originally searched for. In select cases we have replaced terms that display in the records. However, searches will still find library materials with the original subject terms.
