When will the library open again?
We're not sure. The library is closed for now.

Can I borrow a laptop or wifi hotspot? What if I'm on campus and need to print?

When are my books and other materials due?
Parkside students, your materials are due September 15. You can check your library account or email us with questions: circulationlib@uwp.edu. Community users, your materials are due September 15. You may also email us with questions: circulationlib@uwp.edu.

Can I borrow books or other materials?
Faculty, staff, and students may request physical items using the Local Request link in Library Search. After your hold is fulfilled, you'll receive an email about making an appointment to pick up the items. This service is only available for items the Parkside Library owns; it excludes materials from other UW libraries. Learn more below.

How do I return my books while the library is closed?
Great question! If possible, hold onto your books until the due date or until the library reopens. If you'll be leaving the area before the library reopens, you can drop your books off at the campus Police Dept, in the back of Tallent Hall.

What about materials I borrowed that belong to other libraries?

I normally get articles very quickly through interlibrary loan, and now they’re taking much longer or getting canceled. Why?
If the article is only available in print format, your request may be canceled because many libraries are closed, and staff are not scanning. Contact a librarian for help finding alternative resources.

Can I still ask a librarian for help with research?
Absolutely! There are many ways to work with a librarian remotely:

The UW-Parkside Library has implemented curbside pick-up for library materials.

To facilitate a curbside pick-up:

  1. Patrons should place a Local Request on a UWP Library item through Library Search. Search for items from the home page.
  2. Sign in to your account (your UWP login), then choose “Local Request” under Request Options.
  3. Make sure your information is correct and submit the request!

Once we’ve pulled your item(s), you will receive two emails. One will be a system-generated message stating that your item is ready. The other will direct you to a questionnaire to determine your best pick-up time. The only way you’ll be able to get your items is by letting us know when to meet you, so please fill out this form.

Curbside pick-up will take place at the RITA on Tuesdays from 10:00am–12:00pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00–3:00pm, and Fridays from 10:00am–12:00pm.

Please come to the RITA circle drive only at your assigned time. Make sure to bring a picture ID (Ranger Card or Driver’s License). A library staff member will be waiting with your items.

Please know:

  1. This service is only available to UW-Parkside faculty, staff, and students.
  2. Only UW-Parkside Library items are available at this time, not items from other UW libraries.
  3. We will process your request as soon as possible, but due to limited on-site staffing, there may be delays.
  4. Resource Sharing (UW-System borrowing) and Interlibrary Loan for physical items are not options yet.
