Patrons (borrowers) are responsible for loaned material from the time it is picked up at the Service Desk at the UW-Parkside Library until the time it is returned to the Service Desk.
Due to the heavy volume of requests that interlibrary loan receives, please submit no more than 10 requests per day.
It is very important to return borrowed materials on time. Failure to return materials on time damages UW-Parkside's relationship with other libraries and compromises UW-Parkside's ability to borrow materials from them in the future. Lending libraries can, and do, block us from borrowing any more items if we have very overdue books. This adversely affects all UW-Parkside students, faculty and staff.
Sometimes lending libraries will cut short the lending period. These items must be returned IMMEDIATELY. Failure to return items immediately may result in fines that will be billed to the borrowing patron.
We will send you an email message telling you that the book has been recalled and that the due date has changed.
Library Use Only and other conditions:
Sometimes lending libraries send special materials to us on condition that they are used only in the library. These materials are marked Library Use Only, they will be held in the Archives on the D2 level of the library. Sometimes we also see books where photocopying is not allowed, or only selected pages may be copied. It is important to respect special conditions as set by the lending library.
Current edition textbooks cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan (approximately 2010-present). If you need help accessing your textbook, please see your professor or talk to an associate at the campus bookstore. You can also ask for help finding readily available supplementary resources with one of our librarians. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or Reserve a Librarian.
