Objectives

To learn the principles of green chemistry, which is environmentally friendly, and perform four representative experiments:

1) Solventless aldol reaction;
2) Diels-Alder reaction in water;
3) Electrophilic aromatic iodination;
4) Environmentally friendly bromination of stilbene.

Use the tabs above to navigate through this guide.

Grading

The instructor will start by teaching the green chemistry theory and explaining the experiments that the students will then perform laboratory reports will be required for each experiment.The grade will consist of 80% for the laboratory work and the lab reports and 20% for the final.
